9-19-2024 – 1 thessalonians 5:18 reminds us "In everything, give thanks. I give thanks to God every day for the people serving here. Thanks to the Church Council for their leadership vision; For the 3M and the Breakfast Belles and their insight into scripture; For everyone involved in the Harvest dinner preparation; For the crafters and their efforts to support the Christmas Bazaar; For everyone who came out on the Adventure Club fishing trip on Sunday; For everyone who wanted to know Christ better and participated in the Bible /Book studies; For Abbi Kaszubowski and her family who joined the congregation on Sunday; For everyone who attended worship; For our Youth Group leaders and their efforts to meet the challenges associated with ministry with our youth; For everyone who wrote a report for the annual meeting; For the nomination committee and their efforts; for our David Sprang, assistant to the bishop who led our synod with integrity; and for all the people who have welcomed me into their home. Brothers and sisters in Christ, in everything give thanks to God for shared blessings in Alpena.

9-19-2024 – The 3M (Men in Motion for Ministry) gathered this morning to talk about who is the greatest and how that is determined in our world. Come and join the faithful conversation at JJs on Thursday morning 7:00 AM.
9-18-2024 – Our 5:00 P.M. book study, "Luther's Small Catechism for Adults," was filled with wonderful discussion, reflection, and hope. Come and join us next week

9-18-2024 – Was invited to the Senior Expo at the A-Plex. Great information (on a variety of topics concerning seniors) being shared in that place until 2:00 PM today.
9-18-2024 - Had a sacred visit with Dixie Weiler today. She was having a good day, she knew who I was, and she told me stories about going out to the country. Please keep her in your prayers.

9-18-2024 – Please be in prayer for the family of Pastor Daniel Deutsch. He passed away on September 16th. Pastor Deutsch served at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran from 1995-2002 as both the Associate and Senior Pastor.  MHe and his wife Mary Lou joined us at our 150th anniversary celebration in 2021.
9-18-2024 – Joan was hard at work today and she received a special gift from Miss Nena.
9-18-2024 – The church council met to discuss the issues facing the church, the annual meeting in October, and the budget for 2025. Please keep these elected leaders in your prayers.
9-18-2024 – The "Ray of Sonshine," ministry group met last night to discuss ministry to our shut ins. Come and join these faithful servants.  If you are interested contact the church office.
9-18-2024 – The Breakfast Belles celebrated as they showed up in force today. What a wonderful conversation about the proclamation of the Gospel. They are the greatest, come and join the faithful conversation on Wednesdays, 7:30 AM at JJs restaurant. Carol and Janie celebrate birthdays this week. Please wish them well.
9-15-2024 – A Beautiful night for a stroll through the tombstones. If you are interested in another celebration of those who have gone before us, please let me know.

Brothers and sisters in Christ, give thanks for the many blessings shared in Alpena.
