Announcements for January 19th, 2025
The January Service Activity is Alpena High School. Items needed: Boys gym shorts (all sizes), boys tank tops (all sizes), mechanical pencils, backpacks, and girls’ bras (sizes A & B). Please leave your items on the altar. Thank you for your generosity.
We are remembering Clinton Kirchoff on his birthday, January 17th, from his family.
S.A.L.T. (Sisters Adoring Light and Truth) will meet after the 10:30 a.m. service on January 19th for lunch and to plan activities for the new year. All ladies are welcome with or without their kiddos.
Next weekend we will collect the noisy offering, so don’t forget to bring your change!
Save the Date! The Stewardship Committee will have a Mexican Night on Saturday, January 25th at 6:30 p.m. Plan now to attend. If you would like to donate food or raffle items, please call Dennis Dziesinski at 989- 464-7112 or Lor Dziesinski at 989-590-8568.
The Adventure Club will meet on Sunday, January 19th from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. to go sledding at the Shipman’s house (1921 Long Rapids Road). There will be hot cocoa and hot apple cider. Bring your spirit of adventure and hope as you explore and share your faith through fun and exploration within this intergenerational educational experience.
Mark your calendars for our next Women’s Retreat on Friday, January 24th. Our theme is “Women are Called to Lead.” The event will take place at 1921 Long Rapids Road and there is no cost associated with this event. We will explore God’s promises for community and fellowship for women. Ages 18 – 100 are invited to discover God’s faithfulness in your faith journey.
Council packets were sent out electronically. Printed copies will be available at Tuesday’s meeting.
Thank you for your prayers for our Stephen Ministry so far, and we ask that you continue to pray for our trainees, Katie Bondy, Bev Huard, and Dawn Grzeskowiak. Their training this week will be on “Caring between Visits: Caregiving and Communications Technology,” because while Stephen Ministry is primarily a face-to-face ministry, it may be necessary at times to use the phone and other communication tools to connect with their care receivers. This session explores how to evaluate these tools and use them in ways that enhances their ministry.
If you would like to make further donations to the Cancer Center, for patients undergoing treatment we are needing packaged nuts, crackers with peanut butter or cheese, rice crispy treats, candy bars, Jolly Rancher hard candies, oatmeal packets, pudding snacks. Please drop them off at Miss Nena’s office.
