The August Service Activity is Besser Elementary School. Items needed: Expo markers, pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, notebooks, glue, water bottles, Kleenex, Clorox wipes, headphones, Post-it notes, colored popsicle sticks, manilla folders, Ziploc bags, red pens, pencil cap erasers, brown or white lunch paper bags, stickers, Dum Dums suckers, snacks, Playdough, paper towels, sponges, ice packs, band aids, coffee filters (to hold snacks), Dollar Tree gift cards, socks, underwear (all sizes) hair ties, sweat pants (smaller sizes) and plastic folders with three prongs in the center. Please leave your donations on the altar.
Worship on the Beach. We will celebrate 2 more times this summer at our beach property. The last Saturday of each month (August 30 and September 27) at 7:00 p.m. You are invited to bring a friend, a beverage of choice, a lawn chair, snacks and a joyful spirit. Saturday night services will continue at 5:30 p.m. We will carpool from the church and travel to the beach property at 6:30 p.m. The service and time of fellowship will last from 7:00-9:00 p.m. If there is rain, we will reschedule.
The Soul Sisters are kayaking on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month through September. We meet next at Sytek Park on August 26th All women are invited. Questions? Call Sue Robb at 989-590-7611.
Next weekend we will collect the noisy offering for the Boys and Girls Club, so bring your change!
Pastor John and Nena are inviting you to come to their house (1921 Long Rapids Road) for a fireside chat on Sunday, August 31st from 5:00-7:00 p.m. We will sit by the firepit near the river (or in the house or gazebo) and talk about life, hope, grace and the love of God (no agenda). This is a gift from Nena and I, so nothing is required to be part of this experience. Come for 15 minutes or for 2 hours.
St. Paul Ev. Lutheran is sponsoring, “A Salute to our Veterans” on Saturday, September 6th from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. a free meal will be provided to all veterans. Zoo’s Tasty Eatz will be set up in our parking lot.
CIA (Christians in Action) will be starting up Sunday, September 7th during the 10:30 service. We will meet each week on the 3rd floor in the youth room. All teens 6th-12th grades are invited to attend.
Join us September 6th & 7th for T-Shirt Weekend/Friendship Weekend/God’s Work Our Hands Weekend. Wear your favorite T-shirt and invite a friend!
Choir rehearsals will be starting again on Thursday, September 4, at 4:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. We would love to have some new members added this year. If you love to sing, please consider joining us.
The Forget-Me-Nots will meet on Tuesday, September 9 at the church picnic grounds at noon. Please bring a lunch and beverage. If you need a ride, please call Ann (989-590-2055).
“Strikes for Compassion” Fundraiser will be held on Friday, September 12. See the insert for all the details.
Attention all men! Mark your calendars for the upcoming “Men’s Night,” which will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at 6:30 p.m. at the church. All men are encouraged to join us for this fun evening.
St. Paul Harvest Dinner is coming up quick! It will be held on Thursday, September 25th. The doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and serving begins at 5:00 p.m. You won’t want to miss this fantastic meal. There is a sign-up sheet in this weekend’s bulletin for items needed. Tickets will be available soon. Plan now to attend.
Fellowship volunteers are needed to host Fellowship on Sunday mornings. Please call the church office or Janice Boboltz at 989-356-4834 or 989-464-6211 if you are interested in serving on this ministry at our church.
