The remaining items from the Christmas Bazaar are in the dining room until the end of this month. Please check out the items that would make great Christmas gifts and check out all the jams still looking for a good home. If you brought items for the bazaar, you may pick them up after November 30th or they will be stored until next year. Kathy Panich will be available at 10:00 a.m. Sunday in the dining room to sign/personalize a snowman for you.
 
Pastor John will again be compiling an Advent Devotional from the people of St. Paul. Share your stories (just a couple paragraphs) on who inspired your faith for all to read, enjoy and be inspired by this Advent season. Please send in your information to Pastor John by November 19th. Thank you.
 
There will be a Float Planning meeting on Sunday, November 16th at 12:00 p.m. in the multi-purpose room.  All are welcome.  We also need candy donations for the Christmas parade. If you want to donate some, just drop it off at the church .
 
The November Service Activity is Thunder Bay Jr. High School. Items needed: Small Healthy Snacks—prepackaged snacks such as granola bars, fruit snacks, crackers, pretzels; Hygiene Products—small shampoos,     conditioners, small deodorants, toothpaste and toothbrushes; Clothing— t-shirts—unisex, black leggings/ sweatpants, , sweatshirts/warmer sweaters., School Supplies—plain two pocket folders, binders, and notebooks. Please leave items on the altar.  Thank you. for your generosity.
 
The Adventure Club will meet on Sunday, November 16th at 1:00 at the Alpena Fire Station to take a tour. Bring your spirit of adventure and hope as you explore and share your faith through fun, and exploration within this intergenerational educational experience. The Adventure Club welcomes everyone from 1-105 years old.
 
Pastor John and Miss Nena are inviting you to a Thanksgiving meal on the 27th of November.  Please don’t spend the holiday alone.  Join us in this meal of thanksgiving.  The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. and end at 4:00 p.m.  Come and enjoy some turkey, pie and the rest of this splendid meal.  If you would like to bring a family favorite dish to pass, please contact the church office.  
 
Come join the celebration, servant volunteers needed to help decorate the building for the Advent and Christmas Season on Monday, December 1st beginning at 2:00 p.m. Call Donna Kensa if you can help at 989-464-5385.
 
The Forget-Me-Nots will meet at noon at the 19th Hole on Tuesday, December 9. If you have not already signed up for the luncheon, call Ann (989-590-2055). This helps the restaurant staff prepare for our meal.  We will again collect either a children’s book or a food item for the Salvation Army Christmas baskets. In January, the Alpena Civic Theatre will present “The God Committee.” Sunday matinee performances are scheduled for Sunday,     January 11 and Sunday, January 18. If you are interested in attending, please let Ann know the date you prefer.  She will then reserve tickets for the afternoon that most people will be able to attend.
 
This year we will have Advent Services on Wednesdays at 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on December 3rd, 10th, & 17th.  We will have a meal at noon followed by a short service at 12:25 p.m.  Come and share this time of preparation for the Christ Child.  We need volunteers to help prepare a simple meal.
 
Pastor John and Miss Nena have planned Advent Educational Opportunities, that will run December 3rd – 17th.  Pastor John’s Class will meet on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. and Miss Nena’s class will also meet on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. Pastor John will hold a Book Study on “A Long Obedience in the Same Direction” by Eugene Peterson and Miss Nena will lead a “Faithful Christmas Through Joseph’s Eyes” Study.
 
The Scholarship Committee is grateful to those that have brought in their bottle returns, we ask that you keep them coming! The bottle returns can be placed in the janitorial closet next to the elevator on the Mirre Street side, there is a sign on the door to prevent confusion.
