We would like to thank Rev. William Rayment and Rev. Eugene Bacon for leading us in worship this weekend.

The Scholarship Committee will be awarding a scholarship to a 2024 graduating senior or current college student. Applications are available in the office and must be returned by April 30.

We are excited to announce that our church's Stephen Ministry is gearing up for training sessions tentatively starting in late April.  These 2-1/2 hour classes offer a unique program that equips you with the skills and empathy needed  to make a positive impact on the lives of others. There is still time to apply!  If you feel drawn to this ministry or have questions, please contact a Stephen Leader - Iris Arthur, Judy Beyer, Nena Shipman, Sue Keyes or Shirley Jones.

Everyone is invited to our April Video Educational Experience on April 17th at 6:00 p.m.  We will be watching “Do You Believe” and a meal will be provided with discussion throughout.
All are invited to a Peace Gathering at Grace Lutheran on April 14th at 7:00 p.m. with cookies and punch to follow. Come and take part in an evening of gentle music provided by Mr. David Usher followed by intermittent readings and quiet reflection.

Mark your calendars!  We will also have a Spring Spruce Up Day on Saturday, April 20th, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  The property leaders are making a list of items that can be spruced up on that day.  This is a church wide event with a meal that is free of charge.  No task is too small or great.

The Adventure Club has a wonderful time planned to swim at the Alpena Plaza Pool on April 21st from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.  Bring your spirit of adventure as you explore and share your faith through fun within this intergenerational educational experience.  The Adventure Club welcomes everyone from 1-105 years old.

The SALT (Sisters Abiding in Light and Truth) young women’s group will be meeting for a movie night on Sunday, April 21s at 6:30 p.m. at the Sanctuary Cinema.  The movie and popcorn is free.  Please contact the church office or sign up online if you plan to attend.  

A new group is being formed in honor of Joy "Shirley" Brooks called "Stitches of Joy."  This group will gather to sew projects that will be distributed throughout the community in her name.  If you would like to join this dynamic ministry, we are meeting for the first time on April 25 (please note the date change!), at   10:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. at Sandy Dee's Quilt Shop and every third Thursday after that, each month.  Bring your sewing machine and supplies, your inspiration, a sack lunch and an open heart.  If you have any questions contact Karen at 989-464-0204.

We will hold an Emergency Class which will answer questions and have a CPR procedures class, by a representative from the Alpena Township Fire Department, on April 27th at 6:30 p.m. and April 28th at 10:00 and 11:30 a.m.  Plan now to attend.

The Scholarship Committee is grateful to those that have brought in their bottle returns, we ask that you keep them coming! The bottle returns can be placed in the janitorial closet next to the elevator on the Mirre Street side, there is a sign on the door to prevent confusion.

The Forget-Me-Nots will attend the matinee performance of The Music Man on Sunday, May 19th. If you are interested in attending, please contact Joanne Huggler (989-356-6532) by Sunday, May 12th.  She will pick up the tickets.  We also have been invited by Patti Byce to attend a Noon Tea Party on Saturday, May 18.  

Mark your calendars!  The Church Rummage Sale dates are set for June 13-15!  Start thinking about what items you would like to donate.  We will again be accepting clean used clothing and shoes for our sale.  If you have any questions, please call Andrea at 989-354-3651.
Come join us for weekend Fellowship.  On Saturday Night we meet before the service at 4:30 for coffee and baked goods until 5:20. Fellowship for the 9:00 service and the 10:30 service will occur in-between the service time.  Everyone is invited to join us.

Reminder:  Next Sunday is Popcorn/Movie Day for Children’s Church! Adults can sneak some too.
