Announcements for June 8th, 2025
THE FLOWERS IN THE CHANCEL (foot of the cross) are given in celebration of the people with June birthdays from Chuck and Katrina Schweinsberg.
Our congratulations and blessings go out to all our Graduates this year! Our High School graduates are: Katie Bushey, Evan McDonald, Evan Peterson, and Michelle Robb. Following the 9:00 a.m. service we will be having a cake reception in the dining room to honor our graduates. All are invited to come and celebrate our graduates and their accomplishments with us.
Adult Educational Opportunities have started and they run through June 25th. Pastor John’s classes meet on Wednesdays at 1:00 and 5:30 p.m. and Miss Nena’s class meets on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. Pastor John will hold a Book Study on “The Remarkable Ordinary” by Frederick Buechner and Miss Nena will lead a Book Study on “The Belong Project: Finding Your Tribe and Learning to Thrive.” Please sign up which will help us to plan well.
We will celebrate “T-Shirt/Bring a Friend” Weekend on June 14th and 15th. Please don your favorite St. Paul Ev. Lutheran T-Shirt and wear it proudly in worship. Also, bring a friend to join the celebration.
Our June Service Activity is Alpena Baby Pantry. Items Needed: Diapers - all sizes, baby wipes, formula-all types, baby food, cereal, juice, clothes - preemie to 4T, and bedding. Please leave your donation items on the altar and thank you so much for your generosity.
The Adventure Club will be having some summer fun as they head out to Arzo Amusement Park on Sunday, June 15th, at 1:00 p.m. You must pre-register by calling the church, 989-356-1658, or on our app by Sunday, June 9th. There are some height and weight restrictions. The Adventure Club welcomes everyone from 1—105 years old.
The Soul Sisters are going to start kayaking in June. We are planning to meet at Duck Park at 5:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month this summer. So, for June we will be meeting on June 10th and the 24th. If you have any questions, please call Sue Robb at 989-590-7611.
The 2025 Dates for Fireside Chats and Worship on the Beach are as follows: Worship on the Beach - June 28th , July 26th , August 30st , and September 27th; Fireside Chats (1921 Long Rapids Road) – June 29th, July 27th , August 31st, and September 28th. Mark your calendars and join us!
The Scholarship Committee is grateful to those that have brought in their bottle returns, we ask that you keep them coming! The bottle returns can be placed in the janitorial closet next to the elevator on the Mirre Street side, there is a sign on the door to prevent confusion.
If you would like to make further donations to the Cancer Center, for patients undergoing treatment we are needing packaged nuts, crackers with peanut butter or cheese, rice crispy treats, candy bars, Jolly Rancher hard candies, oatmeal packets, pudding snacks. Please drop them off at Miss Nena’s office.
