Again, location to be decided at a later date. We are accepting candy donations for the Christmas parade, which you may drop off at the church.
Pastor John will again be compiling an Advent Devotional from the people of St. Paul. Share your stories (on who inspired joy in your life) for all to read, enjoy and be inspired this Advent season. Please send in your information to Pastor John by November 18th. Thank you.
Pastor John and Miss Nena are inviting you to a Thanksgiving meal on the 28th of November. Please don’t spend the holiday alone. Join us in this meal of thanksgiving. The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. Come and enjoy some turkey, homemade rolls, pie and the rest of this splendid meal. If you would like to bring a family favorite dish to pass, please contact the church office.
The remaining items from the Christmas bazaar are in the dining room until the end of the month. Please check out the items that would make great Christmas gifts and check out the jams still looking for a good home. If you would like to pick up the items you brought, do so by the end of the month.
"Stitches of Joy" are meeting at Sandy Dee's Quilt Shop every month. Our next meeting is Thursday, November 21st at 10:00 a.m. Bring your sewing machine and supplies, a sack lunch and an open heart. If you have any questions, please contact Karen at 989-464-0204. Please note that we will not meet in December.
The Forget-Me-Nots will be meeting for luncheon at noon at the 19th Hole Restaurant on Tuesday, December 3rd. Please call Ann (989-590-2055) by Friday, November 29 to make your reservation. We will be collecting children’s books to be distributed at Christmas. If you wish to contribute, bring a book with you.
This year we will have Advent Services on Wednesdays at 12:00 – 1:00 on December 4th, 11th, & 18th. We will have a meal at noon followed by a short service at 12:25. Come and share this time of preparation for the Christ Child. We need volunteers to help prepare a simple meal.
Pastor John and Miss Nena have planned Advent Educational Opportunities, that will run December 4th – 18th. Pastor John’s Class will meet on Wednesdays at 1:00 PM and 5:30 p.m. and Miss Nena’s class will also meet on Wednesdays at 5:30 PM. Next weekend we will collect the noisy offering for the Boys and Girls Club, so please bring your change!
Please keep our Stephen Minister trainees in prayer. This week, they’re covering “A Process Approach to Caring,” which provides the key understanding that the most effective caregiving happens when we focus on the process of care—not the results we hope to see. They don’t have to fix the care receiver’s problems; instead, they can continue providing the best possible care while relying on God to bring about the results.”
There will be a Bake Sale at Grace Lutheran Church (119 W. Dunbar Street) on Saturday, December 7, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. It will feature assorted cookies, bread, candy and other baked goods.
Please return any borrowed or washed kitchen linens (table clothes, dish towels, aprons, etc.) to the church.
